Partnerships

We are looking for the right organisations to take this further.

IMBT has a patented method, a body of research and more than twenty-five years of founder expertise. What it needs next is partners who can help test, develop and commercialise the applications that make sense.

Who we want to hear from

Find your route in.

Animal health & feed companies

Teams exploring alternatives or complements to conventional antimicrobial strategies in poultry and other livestock.

Biotech & pharma research

Groups working on antimicrobial peptides, innate immunity or immune regulation who want a natural, controllable peptide source to study.

Universities & institutes

Researchers who can replicate, extend or independently test the findings, in new species, pathogens or models.

Licensing partners

Organisations interested in rights to the method for a defined field, territory or species.

Insect producers & the circular economy

Businesses growing insects for food and feed, or recycling waste biomass, who want a higher-value use for what they produce.

Research funders & government

Programmes and agencies backing sustainable, One Health and nature-positive projects, including collaborative research funding.

Investors

Those interested in backing development of a patented platform at an early, evidence-building stage.

Ways of working together

Several routes, one starting point.

Research collaboration

Joint studies, material supply for evaluation, shared protocols, and agreed approaches to publication.

Evaluation agreement

A defined, time-limited opportunity to test the material or method against your own questions.

Licensing

Rights to the protected method in an agreed field, territory or species.

Co-development

Shared investment and effort to develop a specific product or application.

Investment

Funding to extend the evidence base and develop the platform.

None of these has a fixed template. The right structure depends on you, and we would rather discuss it than guess.

What IMBT brings

A defined starting position.

  • Founder expertise since 1999, directly available to partners.
  • Protected IP covering a controllable method. More on IP
  • Experimental results from laboratory and poultry work, with limits stated. See the evidence
  • A clear roadmap of questions where a partner adds the most value.

What we look for

A good fit.

  • Scientific rigour and an interest in testing the work properly.
  • Relevant capability: study design, regulatory knowledge, manufacturing or market access.
  • Patience with early-stage evidence, and a wish to build it.
  • Openness on how results and rights will be handled.

Wider vision

Insects, biodiversity and One Health.

The role of insect biodiversity in keeping ecosystems healthy is increasingly recognised. EU programmes such as Horizon Europe now fund collaborative work on biodiversity and on the links between ecosystem health and human health through a One Health approach.

IMBT is keen to work with research institutes and organisations pursuing these goals, and has several projects it would like to discuss.

Projects to discuss

  • The role of worms in soil health, carbon sequestration and carbon sinks
  • In-situ soil regeneration from animal waste, incorporating insects
  • Moving insect-derived antimicrobial peptides through the food chain, including to eggs

Potential Research interests only. No IMBT data currently supports claims in these areas.
